Welcome to our website! We are gradually adding things, so keep checking back!

We have been raising Nigerian Dwarf Goats since 1987, having started with goats in the early 1970's with Alpines, and later Nubians, Pygmies, Angoras, Dwarf Nubians & Pygoras.

Many of our goats have moonspots or parents with moonspots.

AUTUMN, 2012:
I will no longer be breeding goats.  After nearly 40 years with goats, I have been struggling with this decision, but I know it's the right one.

SPRING 2013:

I have sold most of my does, and still have two 2-year-old bucks for sale.  They are brothers, and have moon-spotted goats on both sides of their pedigree.  Roundabout Buffalo's Chance is more obviously moon-spotted than his brother, Roundabout Nick O' Time...

Their pictures and information are on our For Sale page.

EVERY GOAT ON OUR FARM TESTED NEGATIVE FOR CL IN MARCH, 2008.

WE HAVE NEVER HAD A NIGERIAN DWARF TEST POSITIVE FOR CAE.

We give discounts for multiple purchases.

Buyer must pay for any additional tests or health certificates on goats.  If goats are shipped, buyer must provide or pay for crate(s) and shipping costs.

2011 UPDATE:
Due in large part to an injury from a fall on ice in February, 2011, Linda made the very difficult decision to sell most of her breeding goats.

~ ~ MANY THANKS to Cheryle Moore-Smith of Old Mountain Farm, for her help with this!!

SOME BOOKS ABOUT ANGORA GOAT CARE AND RABBITS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE - SEE THE "FOR SALE" PAGE.

Hi!  We're Linda and Irving.

We have been raising NIGERIAN DWARF GOATS** since 1987 here at ROUNDABOUT MINIFARM in Waterboro, Maine.  So to begin, we have posted some pages with pictures and information on some of our goats.  (More to come) Some of the pages show the goats we have for sale.

**We have added a page to show the pedigrees for some of our goats and their ancestors.  More to be added as time allows.

Linda's mother, Ruth Toivainen, passed away at the age of 93 on April 25, 2010.  As well as being a wonderful mother to her four children, Ruth was an RN and the founder of The White Elephant Shop in Essex, MA.  Here is the link to a memorial website Linda set up:

http://ruthtoivainenmemorial.webs.com/

We also have a page about our fantastic HAIRLESS AMERICAN TERRIERS, Bare Louise and Gary.

The following pictures are of Bare Louise with her $375.60 rock!  On April 26, she was charging around a corner to go for a walk with Gary and Irving, and sliced half her leg open on this rock, which the goats had apparently pushed out into the path.

"That's the one!"

"I don't even wanna look at it!"

"Bad rock!"

Eventually we will add pages for the handcrafted RENEW'D RELICS items that Linda makes from recycled and found materials.

We sell various items at group shops and flea markets under the name FUNKY & FUN, so we'll feature some of those items here as well.

So check back periodically!

OTHER MEMBERS OF OUR FAMILY:

Over the years we've had potbellied pigs, ferrets, domestic rats, Muscovy ducks, bantam ducks, bantam & standard chickens of many breeds, guinea fowl, peafowl, geese, a pet turkey, dwarf & standard rabbits, a horse, a miniature horse, a rescued pony, llamas, many cats, a wolf hybrid and various large & small dogs...as well as (many years ago) a pet skunk rescued from a small cage, a rescued fantail pigeon, a wonderful Amazon parrot, and a couple of rescued squirrels, not to mention the baby black bears we fostered for a while...

It's considerably quieter around here now, with only the goats, two dogs, and three cats...but somehow they still keep us very busy!

This is Ollie, born in 1990.  As an adult, he voluntarily moved outside to become a barn cat.  In his last few years, I  convinced him to move inside the house during the cold weather.  He and our dog Bare Louise loved each other, and it was really neat to see them bumping heads and giving each other love-bites!

On May 22, 2009 we had to have Ollie put down   :>(    He would have been 19 years old in August 2009.
